| Moving Forward6 October is my first working day for my 2nd year in Lutex. So it's good to leave my "New Year Resolution" here !
Connie: I'll be kinder to you and other female colleagues in the department. it'd not only important in my work, but the road to a more fruitful life. In addition, I'll be more detail-minded and taking a greater role in my work. I won't let you down.
Master Henry: I'll take your advice and making those long lasting changes as suggested. It's vital to make such change or else I can't deliver what I have promised above
To make all these changes happen while a swift promotion is unlikely, I'm now considering if I should apply for the post of Officer in HK Air Cadet Corp... Any comments or details in the 9-month training (and my way ahead and degree of commitment in the Corp needed)?
| One Year On(My Xanga is literally fossilized, and it's the time to break it and have a new beginning!!! )
3 October marks my 1st Anniversary in Lutex. With a sense of nostalgia, I decided to have a lunch gathering with my dear Boots R&D teammates (minus my department head, as she had an appointment with somebody else) at Spaghetti House Wanchai--the same restaurant I had my welcome lunch one year ago.
The same place, different table and different people beside me--all the faces I met in the reception lunch were gone. But I have a lovely gal and a master by my side now! The anniversary lunch turned out to be a good opportunity to know more about each other!
Will we celebrate my 2nd Anniversary together? I wonder and looking forward about it!
| Another View of VJ Day on 15 AugustTo commemorate Japan's acceptance of the terms of the Potsdam Declaration on 15 August, let us observe the Victory over Japan Day (VJ Day) with a different approach rather than celebrating the Allies' victory--let us:
(1) in memory to everyone who gave their life to the cause of Freedom, be it Chinese, British, Americans, Australians, Canadians, etc. Without their sacrifice, we won't enjoy a happy life our parents and grandparents are enjoying, (2) a special mention to innocent Japanese soldiers who were needlessly died under the influence a distorted worldview, an ideology that spreads tyranny and hatred (3) let us collect oral accounts of confessed Japanese vets, either on your own or providing support to those who are working on it. (4) Last but not least, let us join our hand to advocate for a formal apology from and a comprehensive financial compensation to war victims wholly sponsored and managed by the current Japanese Government.

| SPC's HKCEE 2008 ResultsFor those who care about SPC, it worths the pain to read this blog entry and decipher the message behind:
不歸險路 (CharlesKwok)
The second batch of Form 5 graduates under the DSS, it's no surprise the overall result is better than Class of 2007. But the result is far from satisfactory--it haven't restored the past glory. There should be remedial works in place already, but there is room of improvement for certain.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In response to Charles' comment on SPC's road ahead, I insists that maintaining a relatively liberal atmosphere on campus is the key of SPC's survival in the future. I don't mind repeating myself here (in a more polished version of course):
In my opinion, having a more sophisticated worldview and the access of a wide network across all sectors of the society are cutting edges of graduates from EMI secondary schools with long history and heritage. Dr. K should maintain a relatively liberal atmosphere while improving the overall academic standards. With emerging brand name schools in the NT take the center stage, a sophisticated worldview of our younger brothers is the only strength that could make a difference among others. So we shall maintain a liberal atmosphere in SPC at all cost, for without it, "there is no survival". Let that be realized: the survival of SPC under the threat of emerging secondary schools in grass-root neighbourhood, the survival for all that SPC has stood for". As a die-hard fan of SPC, we shall try hard to expand and maintain a close relationship among alumni (in particular, our young brothers) to join the great cause. So we can "go forward together with our united strength".
